The King’s Centre for the Study of Intelligence (KCSI) offers a deeper understanding of the role that intelligence plays as we confront a world of disinformation, new state-based threats, and a shifting world order. KCSI brings together a diverse group of leading scholars, doctoral researchers, practitioners, and a highly specialised group of 20+ visiting fellows from four continents. Together, we conduct research and generate insights that help leaders, governments, NGOs, businesses and the public navigate challenges and opportunities in the evolving global security environment.
The Centre’s key aims are to:
- Generate new knowledge. We expand understandings of global intelligence policies and practices through rigorous applied history and contemporary research.
- Facilitate informed discussion. We bring together scholars, experts, and practitioners to think through the various ways intelligence contributes to government decision making, as well as the challenges of running a lawful and effective intelligence community.
- Train the next generation. We provide world-class education to BA, MA, and PhD students by providing a unique educational opportunity that features practitioner perspectives in addition to lectures, seminars, and mentorship delivered by leading academics in the field.
In addition to research and publications, KCSI regularly hosts thematic panels and talks, workshops, seminars, mentoring sessions and conferences. Students enrolled in the prestigious MA in Intelligence and International Security get a front row seat to these discussions and debates.
