Join us for our first KCSI event of the year featuring Lord Leveson - UK's Investigatory Powers Commissioner - with Celia Parker-Vincent.
The UK’s Investigatory Powers Commissioner - alongside his team at the Investigatory Powers Commissioner’s Office (IPCO) - oversee the use of covert investigatory powers, including by the UK’s intelligence agencies. This vital role forms part of the oversight capability for intelligence and law enforcement in the UK. During this event Dr Parker-Vincent, Executive Director of KCSI, will discuss with Lord Leveson the importance of his role and that of IPCO, the challenges for overseeing investigatory powers in 2026, and the balance between powers, privacy and oversight in UK society. Lord Leveson will talk about what we can expect from IPCO’s upcoming annual report, due to be published in November 2026, and his reflections on recent high-profile investigations, for example IPCO’s investigation into Agent X.
There will be plenty of time for audience Q&A. The formal portion of the evening will last for 60-90 minutes. All attendees are welcome to join us for a reception from 7:30 onwards
