Biography
Alice Hastings-Bass is a PhD researcher in the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. Her doctoral research adopts an applied history approach to explore how lessons from the Cold War can inform the UK’s strategic response to contemporary state threats.
Alice holds an MA in Cyber Policy and Strategy from King’s College London, and an MA in Modern History from Brasenose College, Oxford.
At King’s College London, she is part of the King’s Centre for the Study of Intelligence and the Centre for Grand Strategy.
Alice began her career in finance, working in investment banking and private equity. She later co-founded a tech start-up—an online marketplace platform serving customers in over 30 countries, with B2B clients including major UK media organisations.
