Biography

David is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of War Studies and a Coordinator of the King’s Intelligence and Security Group. His work focuses on the role of intelligence in Australian history and international relations of Asia, particularly the influence of the 'Five Eyes' signals intelligence network in cyber and outer space security.

David was previously a Research Associate at Asialink Diplomacy, where he coordinated the research of several track II initiatives, as well as a Junior Research Fellow at Ormond College at the University of Melbourne. He recently partnered with the late Michael Herman to write the book Intelligence Power in Practice, which was published by Edinburgh University Press in 2022.
