Biography
Rose Edwards is a post-graduate researcher in the Department of War Studies, preparing for upgrade to PhD candidate in the field of International Relations. She holds: an MA in Spanish and Politics from the University of Edinburgh (1996); an MSc in Latin American Politics from the University of London (1997); and a Mid-Career Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School (2016). She also holds the Certificate in Corporate Governance from the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (2019).
Rose comes to the War Studies Department after 26 years’ UK government service, working for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office including postings to British Embassies Moscow, Kyiv and Rome. In her final government role, seconded to the Cabinet Office, she designed and established the UK’s College for National Security.
Rose is keen to support purposeful engagement between academics and policy makers, in support of national security strategies.
